Jack Hanley Gallery is pleased to announce a show of drawings by Los Angeles Artist Raymond Pettibon. Combining images with text from writers such as Henry James and Christopher Marlowe, his work borrows ideas from popular culture, with themes of baseball players, locomotives, religion, and "similar start evocations of noir". Pettibon first gained attention in the underground music scene in Los Angeles in the 1980's by drawing album covers for bands such as Black Flag. He has also made a number of short films and published a series of small books.
Approximately 50 drawings will be pinned directly to the gallery walls.
