Jack Hanley Gallery is pleased to present new work by Christopher Garrett in 389 Valencia. The exhibition will run from May 8th through June 5th, and the opening reception will be on Friday, May 8th, from 6 to 9 pm.
San Francisco-based artist Christopher Garret has shown widely in local and national exhibitions. His work was most recently featured in Yerba Buena Center for the Arts’ Bay Area Now 3 and at Deitch Projects We Are Electric (curated by Chris Perez.) Garrett is known for his wry and sardonic drawings that often depict fringe figures: long-haired hippies in hot-tubs, or purely fantastic scenarios replete with wolfmen and artistic houseplants. For his show at the Jack Hanley Gallery Garret will be exhibiting not only a selection of recent drawings, but will also create an installation in the rear section of the gallery.
