Jack Hanley Gallery, San Francisco
Opening Reception, Thursday, October 13, 2005, 6-9pm
Ed Loftus, originally from London, and more recently based in Berkeley, creates works on paper in excruciating detail, which almost defies logic. Based on images from childhood memories, the graphite drawings evoke the feeling one gets while looking through a photo album. Infused with meaning, the images while almost technically perfect evoke a familiar and nostalgic pathos. Loftus has been featured in group exhibitions in San Francisco and New York.
