Jack Hanley Gallery is please to present an exhibition by Shaun O'Dell at our 395 Valencia Street gallery, and an exhibition by Harrell Fletcher at our 389 Valencia Street gallery. Both exhibitions will run from January 9 through January 31, 2004, with opening reception for both Friday, January 9, 6:30 to 8:30 PM.

Harrell Fletcher (Portland, OR) works collaboratively and individually on interdisciplinary, site-specific project that explore the dynamics of social spaces and communities. Highlights include "Learning to Love You More" website and artist assigned projects, "The Sound We Make," video and simultaneous public art displays in Houston, TX, and "North Beach Parking Garage" in San Francisco, CA in which Fletcher stenciled fortunes in white paint in parking spaces. Along with this work he has also developed more personal and idiosyncratic pieces including drawings, prints, writings, events, videos, and sculptural objects. Fletcher has recently been selected to participate in the next Whitney Biennial.
